The Pasadena Boys Choir
John Barron Producer/ Director
January 4, 1999
Dear Supreme Master Ching Hai
It is with the deepest sense of pride and gratitude that I express appreciation to You for allowing The Pasadena Boys Choir to be a part of the One World of Peace through Music concert three weeks ago. This was truly an evening of incomparable beauty and inspiration, and I know it will live long in the memories of all the choirboys who participated. What an inspiring tribute to You and Your life long work as a world humanitarian and beacon of light to those in need. We are truly honored to have been a part of such a major undertaking, and we are most grateful to You and all of the members of the International Association who made this special tribute such a wonderful celebration of life through music.

Thank You, Supreme Master, for Your very kind and generous contribution to The Pasadena Boys Choir. With Your permission, we are going to apply Your $500 contribution to our scholarship fund. This fund is used to assist boys whose parents are unable to afford the cost of training and tuition. There are always many deserving boys who wish to participate in this program, but whose parents have limited financial resources. Your contribution will help us continue to make this possible.
We have had many wonderful responses from our families who attended the One World concert, and I know they would want me to thank You for making it possible for them to attend the concert. Though some of them were able to purchase tickets to the concert, there were a number who did not have the extra money during this holiday period to purchase tickets. They were thrilled when they received their special complimentary invitations to the concert, and it was a special Christmas gift for them to hear their sons in Mr. Karlin's masterful symphonic work, The Peace Seeker. Three weeks after the event, many of the boys are still talking about the concert.
I have been the director of The Pasadena Boys Choir for twenty-seven years, and I must tell You that the One World production will definitely be remembered as one of the highlights of my tenure as director. Everyone with whom we worked was so eager to be of help and assistance. Fred Karlin and Peter Boyer were a pleasure to work with throughout the project, and were so patient with the choirboys during the preparation period. It was a delight to work with both of them, and I hope we shall have the opportunity to cross paths again at some point in the not-too-distant future. They are not only professional musicians of the highest calibreer , but they are such wonderful, sensitive and caring human beings. The choirboys were so surprised and impressed that Mr. Karlin would take time out from his busy schedule to purchase Yo-Yos for each of them as a token of his appreciation for their part in The Peace Seeker. What a marvelous experience this has been for each of these young boys, and we are so grateful to all of you who enabled us to be a part of this wonderful tribute.
We would consider it an honor to work with the Association at any point in the future, and please do not hesitate to let us know if we can be of service in any way. Thank You for honoring all of us with Your presence at the concert three weeks ago. May I extend to You, Your loved ones, and all of the members of the Association my warmest regards and personal best wishes for a New Year of peace, prosperity, and happiness. May God bless each of us as we continue our walk through life as Peace Seekers and advocates of beauty, truth and humanitarianism.
Very Sincerely Yours
John Barron
* Editor's Note: After learning of their need, Master offered US$20,000 to the Pasadena Boys Choir Scholarship; and gave each of them some of our publications -- spiritual stories, CDs and videos, et ceterac. , as a spiritual gift.
