[Gangwon-do] Initiates in Gangwon-do province recently rented a place for group meditation on the quite outskirts of Wonju. The practitioners are so happy to have their own space for spiritual practice.

 

[Chungju] From September 30 to October 8, Golden Year 3 (2006), the Chungju World Martial Arts Festival was held in central South Korea. As in past years, we set up a booth. The theme was “Experience Meditation and Vegetarianism” and various activities including vegetarian food sampling, showing videos of Master’s teachings, and sharing Alternative Living information were offered.

Thanks to God’s arrangement, we were very fortunate to have a space much larger than usual. Also, just before this festival, local initiates prepared a meditation hall near Wonju city, which turned out to be great for teaching the Convenient Method.

Because the festival overlapped with the Korean Thanksgiving holiday, there were twice as many visitors as in previous years, mostly families. Nearly 70,000 people visited our booth, and over 50,000 Alternative Living flyers were distributed. The vegetarian food tasting was immensely popular, and visitor after visitor, having tasted “soy meat” for the first time, wanted to know where they could obtain such wonderful food. Some who had come in previous years were delighted to see our booth again. Because there were many visitors in the evenings, initiates set up the projector showing Master’s lectures outside the booth. Even from a distance, people could see Master speaking and approached to watch.

Some came to our booth to watch the videos every day. One woman from a neighboring booth expressed her deep-felt accord with Master’s teachings. One of the visitors who learned the Convenient Method was a professor from the Police Academy. He had been walking by our booth when he happened to hear the word “enlightenment,” at which he stopped to listen. After watching Master’s lecture to the end, he realized that he had found what he was looking for.

On the last day of the event, a seminar was held in the Chungju Civic Center. The room was filled with both the booth visitors and those who had seen the posters on the streets. The audience watched Master’s lecture in video attentively, and right after it ended, 26 of them stayed to learn the Convenient Method.

Our booth at the Chungju Martial Arts Festival and the video seminar were both very successful, as we were able to deliver the messages of spiritual upliftment and compassionate lifestyle to countless people at the same time. We sincerely thank Master for arranging everything so smoothly for us, and are determined to continue to spread the good news as befits the Golden Age.
