In the afternoon of April 3, we arrived
at our second stop, Damascus, the capital of Syria. When we learned
that permission was required for distributing leaflets in this country,
our team leader, the tour guide, and several team members toiled very
hard with negotiations, but to no avail. On April 5, we tried to break
through this challenge by adopting another approach. We took a one-day
tour with the tour guide. After we reached a Christian church that had
a few shops nearby, all of us worked together. Some went shopping, others
distributed leaflets. Our tourist guide, a very humorous person, also
helped us with the distribution sincerely. At last we succeeded in disseminating
God’s love to the people. That day we didn’t distribute
many leaflets, but we had sprinkled some points of light in numerous
places, which will subsequently extend and expand. This was exactly
what we came here for!
Before
departing in the morning of the last day, we made good use of the precious
time and went to disseminate God’s love at different road junctions.
Unexpectedly, people accepted the leaflets eagerly, including the police
constables. About a thousand leaflets reached the hands of the people
in just 20 minutes! Two young beggars standing next to the bus station
reached out their hands expressing their wish to help us distribute
the leaflets, so we handed the remaining leaflets in our hands to them.
When our bus slowly moved away, we saw that these two young angels were
busy distributing leaflets by the roadside. At that moment, we witnessed
God’s wonder and love power!
