The Sentient World of Animals

Love is the Best Communication

By a resident in Hsihu, Formosa (Originally in Chinese)

In 1999, Master compassionately allowed the residents in Hsihu to go to the United States at the Florida Center to celebrate the Moon Festival. At that time, there were a few horses in the Center. On the day of the Festival, the female residents suddenly received instructions to dress up the horses, because Master and Her escorts would be riding around the Center to give everyone a delightful surprise. I was amazed to learn that there were horses there. I quickly jumped into the car that took us to the stable. It was a crude stable housing several horses.

Despite my curiosity and love for animals, I quickly started to work. Time was short; two or three residents attended to one horse, and when the decorations were almost done, we were asked to hurry because the time was up. I tried to tie a big bow around the backside of the horse, but the horse was too tall for me to reach. I became very anxious! At that moment, I murmured to myself, "What should I do? I am just a little too short. How can I make it?" (spoken in Chinese even) Immediately after my murmur, the horse bent its hind legs and lowered its backside. I was both stunned and delighted, but I quickly finished my job. Suddenly, I felt an overwhelming emotion as if something had melted and dissolved, and that was followed by a continuous flow of bliss.

Since that time, Master has repeatedly spoken about the spiritual consciousness of animals and the proper way that humans and animals should live together. However, only when we have experienced a real situation do we truly understand that communicating through love can save the lives of animals in an emergency.

Each year during the seasons when migratory birds are on the move, some peculiar bird species appear at the Hsihu Center. Among them is a kind of large bird that hunts prey with its claws. One day, one of these birds appeared in the area where we live. While it tried to hide, it could not fly and so it fell whenever it tried to do so. It was probably ill or injured. It attacked approaching residents with its long, sharp beak, and fiercely refused pieces of apple and wax apple.

I remembered that Master once said we could communicate with animals through telepathy and picture forms. So I sent an image message from my heart telling it that we loved it and wanted to have it treated by a doctor so that it could heal. After communicating with the bird, I walked over and lifted it into my arms. It leaned against me without resistance. We placed it in a paper box padded with cloth and quickly took it to the Wild Bird Society. The bird remained calm throughout the journey. The president of the Wild Bird Society found that one of its claws was injured. Unable to hunt for the last few days, it was starving and very weak. Having finished his diagnosis, the President immediately went out to buy some nourishment for the bird, adding with optimism that the bird would recover fully. Now, as I look back at the incident, if we had not heard Master's discourse about how to convey love and comfort to animals, we would not have been able to help this wild bird and save its life.

My love for the world grows each day, for the Master Power, the Quan Yin Method, and the Divine Energy permeate all things, merging them into one, and activating more and more sources of love and joy in the world. I might have lived a million lifetimes, but the present one is the most delightful.
