Day for Our Earth By Missouri News Group (Originally
in English)
[Missouri] As with many other cities in the US, Columbia district organized a day for our Earth on April 22, Golden Year 4 (2007), in Missouri University’s Peace Park. Many thousands of people came to enjoy the music, art, foods and educational displays, participated in activities for kids, visited hundreds of booths, learned more about environmental concerns and honored the Earth. Fellow initiates in Missouri took the opportunity to participate and spread the message of “Go Green. Go Veg.” as well as the spiritual teachings of Supreme Master Ching Hai. Many hundreds of Alternative Living flyers and Supreme Master Television messages were handed to fairgoers. Free vegetarian food samples and Alternative Living handbags became the main attractions for the Association’s booth. Thus many people have come to know Supreme Master Ching Hai and Her messages for peace on our Earth and love for all humanity. At the closing of the Fair, a TV and radio reporter stopped by our booth for a short interview, and we were delighted to share our views and comments.
A Camera Team Is Formed
Reported by the Oregon News Group (Originally in English)
[Oregon] Oregon Center has formed a team to shoot footage for the Supreme Master Television. All the team members are very happy to be able to contribute to the noble work. On May 11, Golden Year 4 (2007), they interviewed a renowned scientist and nutrition expert: Dr. T. Colin Campbell. Dr. Campbell has been invited all over the world to present his book “The China Study.” In this book, Dr. Campbell reveals compelling facts about how a plant based diet could not only prevent cancer, but also reverse the growth of cancer and reduce the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, and breast cancer. A plant based diet is the best for human health. On May 12, the Oregon Center participated in the VegFest exhibit in Portland. Fellow initiates gave out vegan cakes, oatmeal bars and fortune cookies with Master’s aphorism, and, of course, Supreme Master TV and Alternative Living flyers. The camera team interviewed the organizers of the VegFest and a few vendors. These interviewing activities connected us with beautiful people who are making great efforts to save our interdependent ecosystem of animals, plants, and human beings. The positive responses from all these people are very encouraging and make us understand how much the Supreme Master Television programs benefit all.
Being Vegan Is a Way
to Cut Carbon By Boston News Group (Originally in English)
[Worcester, Massachusetts] ‘Step It Up’ Worcester was one of over 1400 events that were held across the United States on Saturday April 14th, Golden Year 4 (2007). This national event was the largest-ever rally against global warming, united by the simple message: “Step it up, Congress! Cut carbon 80% by 2050!” Together with non-profit organizations, universities, businesses and individuals, our Association members made it a remarkable day. The Quan Yin Restaurant of Worcester, the only restaurant in the area that was invited, advocated a vegan lifestyle by providing outstanding vegan meals. Other vegan groups had their own tables for display materials to help people start a vegan diet and served vegan ice cream and vegan cake. Hybrid cars were displayed with their owners’ presentation on the advantages. Massachusetts Animal Rights Coalition (MARC), the largest and most active volunteer animal rights group in Massachusetts, was also present to help people understand how to end suffering for all animals: farmed animals, animals in laboratories and entertainment, companion animals, fur animals and other wildlife. Businesses that sell recycled products, energy-saving equipment and alternative energy, etc., also took the opportunity to promote their products. Music bands played exciting songs to raise awareness and promote action to protect the environment. Amongst guest speakers, government officials including the Lieutenant Governor, City Councilor, and City Manager made speeches about global warming. Our Association members enjoyed the fun in harmony with others who had the same noble ideal to ‘Step It Up’ for a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable city.
