On March 31, Golden Year 4 (2007), Georgia Center held the second annual visit to New London Health Center, a nursing home in the city of Snellville. To share our love to the elderly and their caretakers, our initiates organized an entertainment program. We presented a variety of dance and musical performances and prepared delicious vegetarian dishes.

The performance included piano recitals, violin and guitar performances, songs in English and Chinese, traditional Chinese dances, as well as a vibrant teenager street dance. The audience showed their admiration by repeatedly saying, “Beautiful,” during the performance of the Chinese dances. The program was concluded by a vocal solo of our spiritual song, “Bird of Paradise” and the chorus, “I Will Forever Love You.” The audience was deeply touched by the beautiful lyrics and the melody of the songs.

After the performance, we took the wheelchaired elderly to the dining area and served them vegetarian cuisine. Everyone was delighted with the healthy, delicious vegetarian dishes and soon the place was filled with happy laughter and joy. The nursing home residents bid farewell to us with warm, loving gratitude and hoped that we will return next year.
