Sharing Master’s Teachings
at Fu Jen Catholic University
Reported by Taipei News Group
(Originally in Chinese)
[Taipei] On April 19, Golden Year 4 (2007), the Taipei Center
was invited by Fu Jen Catholic University’s Faculty of Theology
to introduce Supreme Master Ching Hai and the Quan Yin Method to students
taking a course in newly emerging religions in Formosa. Several priests
and nuns also came to listen to the class.
During the first hour, students attentively watched a DVD
featuring a lecture delivered by Supreme Master Ching Hai in Manila,
Philippines, in 2000. The second hour of the seminar was opened to
questions and discussions about spiritual teachings. With some students
eagerly enquiring about the Quan Yin Method of meditation, the question-and-answer
session and discussions continued after the bell signaled the end
of class. The fellow initiate who was invited to deliver the lecture
said, “From the day before to the end of the class, I felt incomparable
blessings. People entered the classroom with smiles on their faces,
and left with smiles as well. I was very lucky to be able to share
Master’s teachings with these beautiful souls.”
|
The professor presented a card to express
gratitude for the sincere sharing from fellow initiates. The
card says, “Master Ching Hai’s teaching is all-inclusive
and encompassing. It demonstrates a special characteristic of
modern religion and has significant influence on people’s
hearts and world harmony.” |

[Taipei] Having learned that Taipei Municipal Longshan Junior
High School was celebrating its 30th anniversary on April 14, Golden
Year 4 (2007), the Taipei Center presented a gift of 1,500 tablemats
exquisitely printed with the Alternative Living and Supreme Master
Television messages to the school teachers, staff and students. We
also contributed a NT$5,000 (US$150) sponsorship fund for Longshan’s
students. In response, the school management presented a letter of
appreciation to the local Center.
The school principal, Ms. Zheng Xiu-qin, said happily,
“The loving gifts from your Association are very practical,
and many of our teachers are vegetarian.” For many years, Longshan
has been providing its assembly hall for Taipei fellow initiates to
hold their group meditation. We are very grateful to the school management
for their open-minded attitude and generosity.
Bringing
the Healthy Vegetarian Lifestyle to School |
As
part of an effort to promote the healthy vegetarian lifestyle in schools,
the Taipei Center chose as its first beneficiary Gueishan Elementary
School in a remote mountain area of Sindian. On the third Friday of
each month, the Center will provide a vegetarian lunch and broadcast
programs from the Supreme Master Television at the school.

While promoting the vegetarian lifestyle,
we also introduce the Supreme Master Television, attracting the
attention of students who begin reading out loud the information. |
On April 20, fellow initiates served a delicious meal with
fruits to the 169 teachers and students of the school. In addition
to providing a nutrition list prepared by a nutritionist, we presented
200 sets of Alternative Living tablemats and document folders, 220
portions of blessed food attached with the Supreme Master Television
information, as well as some of Master’s publications.
The students agreed that the meal was delicious and said
they were already looking forward to enjoying the next meal. The teachers
took the opportunity to explain to the students how the vegetarian
diet benefits health, and how the meat diet exceedingly exploits the
resources of our planet. The teachers were very much impressed by
the food, and even invited our fellow initiates to start a healthy
vegetarian cooking class at their school.
On April 27, fellow initiates visited Fushan Elementary
School, a mini school in an Atayal community near Taipei, where they
served a sumptuous vegetarian lunch to its 68 teachers and students.
Before enjoying the meal, the indigenous children sang a welcome song
in their mother tongue. School Principal Huang Mei-ling earnestly
described the healthy and nutritious lunch provided by The Supreme
Master Ching Hai International Association and repeatedly expressed
gratitude to the Taipei initiates. On behalf of the school, she accepted
the spiritual gifts from our Association, which included Alternative
Living tablemats and document folders, blessed food attached with
information on the Supreme Master Television, and Master’s publications.
After savoring this healthy vegetarian meal, all the teachers
and students expressed awe at the delicious food. One of the teachers
was very interested to learn the Convenient Method of meditation.
Sharing Positive News on World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day initiated by UNESCO, on April
21, Taipei initiates participated in the “Happy Reading - Live
a Vigorous Life” activity held by the ROC Library Association
and the Taipei City Library.
The activity included a procession and a “reading
marathon.” During the parade, over a hundred and thirty fellow
initiates, including adults and children, holding banners and placards
showing the Supreme Master Television and Alternative Living messages,
distributed informative materials and shouted slogans along the way.
Our group attracted attention and positive affirmation from local
citizens, and was acclaimed by the convener as the best procession
team.

Hua Students

Light and Sound Club invited brothers and sisters from Taipei and
Hsinchu to set up a booth for low-cost, delicious vegetarian food
at their university’s annual fair. We also played Flash animated
cartoons to explain the close relationship between a vegetarian lifestyle
and environmental protection. The cartoons conveyed the profound message
in a simple way, attracting children to repeated viewings. It was
a great way to educate the young generation. We also distributed tissue
packs printed with information about the Supreme Master Television,
encouraging the public to watch positive news online to save the planet.

sisters in every corner of the world. In response, the practitioners
