Love in Action India   Blanket Distribution in Barmer   By brother-initiate Adil Bhai, Rajasthan, India (Originally in English)

Recently, the district of Barmer in India experienced an extremely cold winter. The temperature dropped to zero and people would shiver even in the day time. They were in urgent need of woolen clothes and blankets.

With the financial support from Master, fellow initiates from The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association distributed 500 blankets worth about 175,000 Indian rupees (US$3,833) to the most desperate people, such as widows, the disabled and the poor. The initiates divided themselves into five groups of 3-4 members and spent five days to complete the mission. Upon receiving the loving gifts the recipients were very grateful. Some commented that they might have died without the blankets. The initiates were glad to bring God's love to those most in need.

Rajasthan Patrika, India 14 February, 2007 (Originally in Hindu) A local newspaper article entitled "Blanket Distribution to the Needy," reports that with the support of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, the distribution of 500 blankets gave relief to the poor and the needy people from the unbearable cold.
