On Saturday and Sunday, September 27
and 8, 2003, practitioners from the Bangkok Center and other parts of
Thailand held a successful Thai vegetarian food exhibition in Baan Sawangthum
Chachengxiow Province, approximately one hour’s drive from Bangkok.
This location is also used for two-day retreats and is full of greenery
and flora, making the surroundings look fresh and bright.
The event was organized in the traditional
Thai manner, conveying a relaxed atmosphere, and featuring a variety
of Thai vegetarian main courses and desserts offered free of charge.
In addition, an exhibition of Thai fruit and vegetable carvings added
a delicate and beautiful touch. All the utensils were carefully selected
with environmental concerns in mind, and some food containers were constructed
of easily disposable banana leaves beautifully wrapped according to
Thai artistic customs. All the initiates in attendance wore traditional
Thai costumes, which adding to the festive atmosphere.
The delectable vegetarian food was delicately
and artistically prepared and thus received high praise from all the
guests. Also, Master’s video tapes were played in the meditation
hall so that everyone had a chance to receive healthy food for both
body and soul.
Through
this event, Thai initiates once again had the opportunity to participate
in the valuable work of spreading Master’s teachings and thus
develop themselves in a spirit of devoted service.
